Another Rabbit Hole

Another Rabbit Hole

Another craft obsession is literally the last thing I need and the only thing I apparently can’t resist.  It started with a spatter stain on an almost new white cotton blouse.  A conversation with Alice, proprietor of the bAlice embroidery studio here in Dublin Ireland.  An introduction to Mountmellick embroidery, a type of whitework originated in the early 19th century in County Laois (fun fact – pronounced more like Leesh).  There is a museum and everything, and that’s where I found this hard to find, recommended book.  I reckon my investment of time and money in this visible decorative mending project would pay for a replacement of the blouse two times over.  And I already bought a replacement blouse.  But that’s how a rabbit hole works.
